PANUMBAGAN SANDBAR- A POCKET OF SERENITY by: Jeresa A. Llona-Mediana)

Exuding with its lazy charm is our Panumbagan Sandbar, located at Barangay Bantayan. It is only a thirty- minute ride aboard the motorboat from Pilar Pier.

The sand bar rich in fine white sand has a tamarind-shaped lagoon. It is surrounded by vast cobalt waters of Pilar Bay and a perfect place for nature lovers who want to either bask in the glimmering turquoise waters or to just sit back or lie down and relax in its
powdery white sand. It is likewise a perfect place to rest after a mind-boggling diving and snorkeling experience at our Fish Sanctuary and Marine Reserve.

Panumbagan sandbar, where development of some amenities will start soon, is one of our tourist attractions which can be considered less touristy but nevertheless one of the fascinating attractions especially to those who are running away from the bustling and jostling crowds.

Our sand bar, though devoid of luxury accoutrement's, is a tranquil sanctuary where one can have a deep sense of renewal while enjoying the impressive vastness of turquoise waters and savouring the sight of a far away iconic backdrop of Bulusan Volcano at the east side and  Mayon Volcano at the northern side.

At sunset, birds like seagulls flock the area to feed themselves with fishes which happen to be swimming just near the area. Sea turtles or “pawikan” are sometimes also seen in the area. Panumbagan sandbar is an isolated and pristine beauty.

The spectacular experience is of course will not be complete without the assistance of our ever friendly and accommodating tourism staff. So, if you want to escape from your busy life, the time to escape is now! Just get in contact with our tourism office anytime and have a relaxing Panumbagan Sand Bar experience!

Today, this is one of the most visited tourists' site, an attraction enjoyed by nature lovers.
