White Water Tubing, An Extreme Adventure



White water tubing is considered as an extreme adventure. It is the newest tourist attraction in the province of Albay. With this event, adrenalin rush, maintaining body balance while riding with the rapidly falling water amidst the boulders, holding tightly with the ropes fastened to the tube, particularly when passing a series of rapids is experienced. Indeed, it is an exciting and challenging activity. It’s a challenge not only to one’s stamina but also  to one’s sense of adventure as well.

          Many years ago, I heard about the presence of a beautiful falls, which is considered as a  hidden treasure of Malinao, Albay.  It’s one of the favorite place of Back packers, mountaineers and adventurists.  Calendars, particularly those from Land Bank of the Philippines, often highlighted the said falls.  I became curious and wanted to see the falls myself.

New Developments at Panumbagan Sand Bar of Pilar, Sorsogon, Philippines

  

        The Panumbagan Sand Bar warmly welcomes its visitors since April 2014.  New infrastructure facilities were established for the comfort and enjoyment of the tourists.  There were a total of twenty one (21) floating cottages, connected by floating bridges made of industrial bamboos, that were built in style, in three octagonal rings. Each ring is composed of seven (7) cottages.  Said facilities were established by the Provincial Government of Sorsogon, headed by Honorable Governor Raul R. Lee, in support to the tourism development of the municipality of Pilar. The cottages were designed by an interior designer, Architect Melo Naval of Provincial Tourism Office.
